We are excited to share this Heritage Minute by Historica Canada celebrating the life and legacy of Norman Kwong, the first CFL player of Chinese heritage and 4x Grey Cup winner. After his football career Kwong was part-owner of the Calgary Flames hockey team, and he would become lieutenant-governor of Alberta in 2005. Post-production is underway on Cree filmmaker Tasha Hubbard’s “Singing Back the Buffalo”, a feature doc following Indigenous visionaries and communities who are rematriating the animal to the North American plains. Videographer Courtenay Forster came to Jump Studios for color correction on this spooky video featuring Corb Lund called “Dig Gravedigger Dig”. Fulcrum Communications partnered with Commotion Media and Jump Studios to produce a series of entertaining commercials for Lux Windows featuring a country singer, dogs, and squirrels. From concept to completion the team scurried to get these spots on air. It’s nutty how real the squirrels look!

Jump scored when they were approached by Scorched Ice to create a launch video promoting Smart Skate hardware that allows players to skate, measure and compete. After a full day shoot capturing players in action, the team went full speed on the edit, motion graphics, and color correction to showcase the hardware and how it can improve player's games.

Located a few kilometers south of Edmonton is The Ermineskin Cree nation. Producers for Sticks & Stones worked closely with the nation to create a documentary series revealing the deep history surrounding the Ermineskin people. Alberta's tourism businesses are hiring! C&B Advertising brought Jump Studios onboard for the picture conform, color correction and finish on this campaign that highlights careers in tourism with the key message that working in tourism will take you places. Jump delivered a 30-second hero spot and several 10-second versions for social media.

Nur Films produced a documentary highlighting the partnership between Arc’teryx Alberta, Rocky Mountain Adaptive and Bowhead. Arc’teryx donated an adaptive mountain bike for people with mobility constraints, built by Bowhead, to Rocky Mountain Adaptive. Jump brought this story to life through the color correction by creating a consistent look from footage shot on a Black Magic Pocket 6K, a Pocket 4K (both on Black Magic Raw) and drone footage from a DJI Mini. Jump matched the mix of indoor and outdoor footage which resulted in a natural clean look.
